Outdoor gear at its best…
If you live in New England, chances are you’ve come across the outdoor lifestyle brand, L.L.Bean. Their products are dependable, well made, and ideal for New Englanders who are embracing an active lifestyle among the ever-changing weather in the northeast.
Cameron and I will fully attest to being regulars at our local L.L.Bean store. Every fall we do a Bean shopping trip where we load up on new gear and cozies for the winter. I tend to always get new flannel shirts and boots while Cameron adds to his jacket and sweater collection.
Get outside this fall…
We have made it a point this fall to get outside as much as possible. Our summer was jam-packed with shooting weddings and as our season dies down – the outdoors have been calling our name! I always feel so refreshed and in a good headspace when I’m in the great outdoors — and the foliage in New England is incredible to hike around this time of year.

As the weather cools down…your dog needs warm layers too!
Little Kai has become a true gem of a walking/hiking buddy. Even though she is just 10 lbs, this kid can haul! I’m so amazed by her stamina and positive personality. I’m always packing her things up in the car with me for day trips and her new L.L.Bean leash set and a warm jacket are becoming quick favorites in her wardrobe!

Pet Accessories
Reversible Field Coat for Dogs – There are two colors available and If I’m honest, I’m probably going to buy the other one as well. lol, These coats are so well made and SO darn cute! Kai is in a size SMALL and it fit her perfectly. This one is perfect for a chilly morning walk in the fall or snow in the upcoming months.
Novelty Dog Leash …yup, it really is that cute. Bean boots on a leash were a hard YES for me! haha I love this leash and collar set!
Novelty Dog Collar This one is a little bigger on Kai and I think would be ideal for a medium to large dog! Hoping they make a thinner version for smaller dogs soon as I love the design so much!

The outfit
Women’s SoftLight Quilted Top, Funnelneck Pullover Color is Vintage Indigo – I suggest sizing up as it’s a fitted sweater! This sweater is super cozy and I love the funnel neck and buttons along the side!
Women’s Vista Camp Pants – they have a looser fit, so I would lean towards a size down than up! These are very comfortable, lightweight and great for hiking.

The Bean Boots
Women’s Signature Bean Boots, 10″ Fleece-Lined PrimaLoft These boots are super comfortable as well as warm! Insulated and waterproof – these babies will get you through the winter.
Women’s Katahdin Hiker Socks – the cutest little hiking socks in your closet. I could buy every single color in these as I love them that much. Get me through the cold you amazing socks, you!
The jacket
Women’s Baxter State Parka – Ideal snow jacket my friends! I had an old snowboarding jacket that I had for years that I finally replaced with this parka you see here. It’s thick and well made and I know it will be ideal for ski trips, rainy/snowy days in the height of winter.

Travel Luggage
One thing that I’ve been on the hunt for is some good and sturdy travel luggage for long trips. It needs to be waterproof so that it can withstand the elements as well as one that is the right size for an extended trip. L.L.Bean just dropped the Hardside Spinner and I must say, it was just what I was looking for!

This travel case is available in 30″ (pictured above) as well as 22″ for carry-on. It also comes in a pretty Olive green! You can find it here.
Travel Ready Boots
Another item that I was searching for was some cute winter boots that were good for traveling in. I have been loving the Women’s Rugged Cozy Boots! I’ve worn these now a few times and the soles are so comfortable to walk in. They are waterproof and adventure-ready while looking still looking modern. I can’t wait to wear these all winter long!
A few other accessories to note are this cute L.L.Bean wide cuff beanie that comes in multiple colors as well as their amazingly comfy hiking socks!
Embracing change as the seasons’ shift…
Every fall I have to mentally prepare myself for winter. As a native Californian, the winters here are a liiiiittle different than the sunny 70-degree weather in February over in California! 🙂
When we first moved here almost five years ago, I was genuinely unprepared with my “Cali-winter” wardrobe. A target jacket was just not going to do it in 20-degree weather. I remember us realizing this as soon as December hit with our first snowfall — we both started googling “where do we shop for quality winter clothes” asap, and that’s kinda how our obsession with L.L.Bean began! Their clothing lasts and the investment you’re making in your warmth and coziness during the winter months is 100% worth it. I guarantee you will be outside more and hopefully with your pup too!
Happy Adventuring!
