As a lover of animals and birds, it’s been a real treat to live along the Connecticut shoreline. We are lucky enough to live just 5 minutes from the Connecticut Audubon Society at Milford Point.
This lush marsh and beach at the tip of Milford is an amazing spot to bird-watch!
There are over 315 species of birds in this area including Ospreys that breed here. They even have an Osprey Cam that you can watch and see what’s going on live! We were lucky enough to see some Ospreys in their nests and even catching some fish to eat. The sunsets here are also fantastic.
When birdwatching in Connecticut it’s a good idea to be outdoor ready for clothing. I typically hike through some marsh or water to get to a good viewing spot along the coastline! When shopping for outdoor clothing, I always head to my local L.L. Bean.
