As a lover of animals and birds, it’s been a real treat to live along the Connecticut shoreline. We are lucky enough to live just 5 minutes from the Connecticut Audubon Society at Milford Point.
This lush marsh and beach at the tip of Milford is an amazing spot to bird-watch!

There are over 315 species of birds in this area including Ospreys that breed here. They even have an Osprey Cam that you can watch and see what’s going on live! We were lucky enough to see some Ospreys in their nests and even catching some fish to eat. The sunsets here are also fantastic.
When birdwatching in Connecticut it’s a good idea to be outdoor ready for clothing. I typically hike through some marsh or water to get to a good viewing spot along the coastline! When shopping for outdoor clothing, I always head to my local L.L. Bean.
Admittedly, when shopping at L.L. Bean I often feel like a kid in a candy store because I always want all the things! Their outdoor gear is amazing and the quality of their clothing is so good that it will last you through the years.

L.L. Bean has lots of size-inclusive options If you’re a curvy gal like myself!
This jacket is quickly becoming a favorite this spring as it’s warm, cozy, and weatherproof. This is the Upcountry Waxed-Cotton Down Jacket in an XL. It’s true to size and perfect if you want to layer a sweater or flannel underneath it. We all know the weather goes up and down a lot in New England, so it’s always great to have a good jacket on hand, especially if you’re headed up north for some summer/fall traveling.
This long-sleeve is the BeanFlex All-Season Flannel Shirt in Classic Navy in a XL. It’s super soft and thick enough to keep you warm on a cooler day but also great if you want to roll up the sleeves If it starts to warm up.
If you know me, you know I love a good hat. I’m all about protecting the skin from the sun and the Henschel Aussie Breezer Hat is breathable and comfortable for a long day outdoors.
This bag is a new favorite – it’s super durable and perfect to carry your binoculars and outdoor gear in. This is the new Leather-Handle Katahdin Boat and Tote in Navy Blue in Medium.
The Connecticut Audubon Society has over 20 wildlife sanctuaries in our state and they educate over 100,000 children and adults annually. They have a full calendar of events each month that include nature and bird walks – you can find this calendar, here!

If you’re a New Englander, chances are you probably own a pair of Bean boots! These are the Bean Boot 6″ in Tumbled-Leather and I can’t get over how comfortable they are! The soft leather moves well with your feet as you walk and they are awesome for winter or summer when you need a waterproof durable boot to walk around outdoors in.

Do you like to birdwatch?! If so, where is your favorite location to do so?
